2014 Tribeca Film Festival Coverage:
At the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival DREAD CENTRAL talks to writer-director Hans Petter Moland about his dark revenge film IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE.
DREAD CENTRAL sat down at 2014‘s Tribeca Film Festival with Hans Petter Moland director of the Norwegian action-revenge drama IN ORDER OF DISAPPEARANCE (Kraftidioten) starring Stellan Skarsgård (THOR, BREAKING THE WAVES) and Bruno Ganz (WINGS OF DESIRE, DOWNFALL, UNKNOWN).
Against the frigid wastes of Norway, an upstanding working man (Skarsgård) seeks revenge for the murder of his son, and triggers a war between two gangsters that escalates in an ever-growing cycle of violence. Driven by grief and a thirst for justice, this simple, law-abiding citizen takes on the two warring factions of hardened, professional criminals by himself. The film’s grim violence is balanced with a wry sense of humor that in no way undermines the seriousness of its themes.
Director Moland discusses the film’s genesis and long period of gestation, and the reasoning behind an unusual creative choice in presenting the film’s bleakly impressive body count.
