Oneiro is an inventive Indie, Action RogueLike, FPS Dungeon Crawler RPG by Ryan Olah, where you smash your way through a Destructible dreamscape prison.
Smash dream monsters with your fists of dread steel & steal their essence, all to fuel your psychic power as you smash through the dreamscape!

That’s right, I said Destructible, as Destructible Terrain is a big part of Oneiro, as you can literally smash through the walls and ceilings to get to your foes, even the very floor!
But watch your feet, as you might just send yourself falling into the pit of darkness, or into the maw of the very boss itself!


Visually, Oneiro reminds me of the dream sequences of Ultima Underworld 2, cool!
But this time, you can rip the labyrinth apart!
That’s right, you can physically smash down walls, ceilings and more, climbing onto the top to seize the high ground and battle from a position of strength, or at least a position free of nasty traps.

Watch out for those traps, like spike taps on the floors, and hiding on the sides of walls, ready to pierce and penetrate you roughly, as well as pitfall traps that will sent you falling into the abyss below after a 1 second warning, so make certain you have a grappling hook to quickly save yourself.

I find smashing down a ceiling and climbing up top and traveling that way much safer, as the traps don’t seem to be present up there, but most of the chests and loot is in the labyrinth below, so you have to decide where and when to descend.

Oneiro has Procedural Generation of the dungeon, as well as Perma Death, though Meta Progression does not seem to be present, as all the upgrades you find in the dungeon are only for your current character, and each new trip to the labyrinth starts you off fresh.
Oneiro has full controller support too, though I found keyboard and mouse works better in an FPS.

Some Oneiro Gameplay tips, as it is tough:
To move faster, just jump around everywhere, bunny hopping around like a wild man like it’s a 90s boomer shooter; cool!
Those creepy black eyes you see in the wall are shops, literally imbedded in the walls.
They sell upgrades for your current run; using the essence you have ripped from your defeated dream foes, feed the wall to feed the beast within!

So, if an Indie FPS Action RogueLike with Procedural Generation and Permadeath through a challenging, trap filled labyrinth appeals to you, than come smash dream monsters with me.
