Is it a good idea to run a Intel I9 13900K on a B class chipset motherboard such as the MSI B760 Tomahawk Wifi DDR4? Well is seems that for most people the answer is very much YES!
But let me explain why.
Pros
Great board with lots of features
Saves £100 over the Z790 version
Excellent VRM performance (around 50c under full load)
Ability to limit thermal maximum to regulate temps
Easy to switch cooling modes from Box Cooler to Tower and AIO and also control limits
Undervolting is possible
PPT limits PL1 and PL2 easily configurable
Doesn't keep exotic water cooling even with 13900k
Money saved can go towards a much better GPU
No loss in performance over stock settings with Z790
Easily available globally at less than RRP (motherboard)
Best value processor compared to 13900 or 13900F for £5 more
Cons
No manual multiplier overclocking
one less m.2 slot
not much else
