A brand-new, retail-boxed Intel Slot 1 933EB Pentium III CPU on a used Asus P3V4X motherboard, with a brand-new 512mb stick of PC133 Kingston RAM, a used 3Dfx Voodoo3-2000 PCI graphics card, and a used Creative Sound Blaster PCI sound card... in a new/old-stock Antec case, with it's 300watt Antec power supply... to which I added 3 new Antec fans, a new 7200rpm 40gb HD, a like-new 52x CD-ROM, and a like-new FDD.
It was already tested with a used 650mhz/100mhz-fsb Pentium III and a used 256mb stick of PC100 RAM... so I knew it worked... you might have noticed that I already had some games installed.
The Asus P3V4X is one of my favorite retro-gaming motherboards... and the Voodoo3 is one of my favorite retro-gaming graphics cards. I tried a Voodoo3 3000 PCI but it's heat-sink hits the FDD connector. I had a similar issue with some AGP cards I tried. 3Dfx didn't take full advantage of the AGP's increased speed, so their PCI cards are about as fast as the equivalent AGP cards.
The OS is Win98SE, graphics driver is AmigaMerlin 2.9, and the chipset driver is Retro 4in1.
