What Intel's Research lab was showing off at CES 2011 was blurring the line between real and virtual toys. What you'll see in the video below is 3D image recognition software create a space for the lego toys to play and interact with each other.
A Lego house on "fire" with a Lego dragon then a Lego fire truck even comes on over to put out the fire. If that isn't you're cup of tea you can watch tiny passengers board a Lego train for its journey around a virtual track. This is just a proof of concept demonstration so the real world implications would be not be just targeted at children, after all don't we want the cool stuff first!
