I will describe progress in IP network traffic matrix inference, arguably one of the most important technical problems in the engineering and management of large-scale IP networks.   In particular, I will discuss tomo-gravity (how to compute accurate traffic matrices for large ISPs in seconds), and anomography (how to accurately detect anomalies, at network-level, for large ISPs in seconds).  The methods rely only on ubiquitously available link load and configuration data.
