The discussion if Hitbox, or generally leverless, button-only controller, are cheating, has been going on for quite a while. And I don't just mean this year, I am talking since its inception back in the Street Fighter IV and Marvel VS Capcom 3 days. Every so often the optic will crop up again and people will lose their marbles at how cheap Hitbox is. That is has unfair advantages over other controllers and all those macros are just straight up cheating anyway. While I don't have a problem with general discourse, as that is how societies generally move forward, I do find the blatant lying a little much. Other controllers have other "unfair" advantages, standard button-only controllers like the Hitbox do not have access to macros and this crusade to defend the badly ageing arcade stick as a whole is starting to, well... get old. 🤷‍♀️
