The scientific community studying our planet's climate is deeply worried: the AMOC, that system of Atlantic currents that keeps Europe's climate mild, is showing signs of slowing down. Several recent studies suggest it could weaken drastically by mid-century, with significant consequences for Northern Europe's climate. Models are talking about possible temperature drops of several degrees, much harsher winters, and impacts on agriculture. This isn't science fiction: we're talking about changes that could affect hundreds of millions of people within just a few generations.
