JA3 S3 Finale and Epilogue

Hello Gamers! First of all, I would like to thank you for following along on my second attempt at Ironman at the Commando-difficulty level. Following O.G’s. solo’ing of the Port Cacao mine, I rather foolishly sent him alone into Port Cacao city, thinking I could retreat him out if he ran into too much heat. Well, the game has a great way of humbling you when you take an unnecessary risk in a moment of hubris. A scripted story mission awaited O.G. at Port Cacao, where O.G. could not retreat. Instead, O.G. found himself facing off against a bunch of enemies in an ambush. Unfortunately OG perished after taking out a few bad guys, so I’ve decided to put this Ironman run down. As you all know, I’ve been playing this Ironman mode run blind, trying hard to avoid spoilers in watching other let’s plays or videos about Jagged Alliance 3. One of the lessons I’ve learned is that I really need to be more cautious in Ironman, as story-scripted ambushes can happen anytime, anywhere – while entering a new sector, while talking to an NPC, or while taking on counterattacks. This ability to surprise you, as the player, and keep you off-balance is one that makes the game so great, but it’s also the reason why the game is so hard and unforgiving. For now, I’m going to take a break from Ironman. I may take it up again, after I’ve gotten a little better and more knowledgeable about the game.
