Test your wits and your skills as you embark on a journey to reverse your best friend's transformation into a furry...Ottsel?...even as he entangles you in his amusing antics. Discover Precursor secrets, dazzling artifacts, and a sinister plot by twisted minds wanting to unleash Dark Eco, the most dangerous element in the universe.

Jak and his friend Daxter accidentally stumble into trouble while exploring Misty Island. Daxter falls into a pool of Dark Eco and is transformed into an ottsel (a mix between an otter and a weasel). To find a way to change him back, they seek the help of the Green Eco Sage Samos, who tells them the only one with the knowledge to reverse the transformation is Gol Acheron, a sage living far to the north. With the teleport gates inactive and the Fire Canyon blocking the way, Jak and Daxter set out to gather Power Cells to continue their journey. Along the way, they discover Gol—once a respected sage—has been corrupted by Dark Eco and, alongside his sister Maia, plans to flood the world with it.
