Other than those purple (pink?) mushroom platforms, a few new enemy designs, some sound effects that make even less sense for the actions they're attached to, and a different color for Jill's leotard, not a lot changes between the Shareware episode and the rest of the game. Except for the difficulty. Epic MegaGames was more than happy to throw shade at other video game companies, but they definitely took a page out of Apogee's book by making the Commercial episodes hard as hell.

Jill of the Jungle is a side-scrolling action-puzzle platformer developed and published by Epic MegaGames in 1992 for DOS PCs. Featuring one of the first female protagonists in a video game, the commercial success of Jill paved the way for the development of future titles.

Tough and tenacious. Beautiful and brave. Jill knows this jungle like the back of her hand, but something has changed. Every last bird, every frog, the jellyfish, the crabs - even the bees are out for blood. She'll need all of her skills, and the transformative powers of the animal statues, if she wants to get to the bottom of this..
