There are invisible death barriers mid air plus a limit to how far you can fall. Using the God Mode mod, I can surpass these issues and fall for as long as I can. The Faith in the Streets Mod also actually creates a bottom for the entire map, because naturally in-game there is no bottom and you would continue falling forever.
