KGM ACTYON: First model of the new brand, goodbye forever SSANGYONG
The Actyon is back, but this time it's called KGM: new name, new identity and a great desire to win back the European public. In today's video we tell you how the new KGM Actyon 2025 is made and how it goes on the road, a medium SUV that marks the relaunch of what was SsangYong.
After the change of ownership and the birth of the KGM brand, the former SsangYong relaunches its C-segment SUV with a completely new look, more European, more modern and with some cues that recall the most successful Korean brands. The proportions have changed, the design is much more refined, and even inside the passenger compartment you can breathe a completely different air from the past.
I get on board and the feeling is immediately positive: improved materials, a cleaner dashboard, well-integrated digital screen and an infotainment system that is finally in step with the times. There is no shortage of physical controls for the climate, always welcome. The back is comfortable and the trunk offers good loading capacity. Overall, KGM has done a great job of offering a solid and solid car.
On the road, the new Actyon behaves well: the steering is light but precise, the comfort is good and the suspension absorption is convincing even on less than perfect roads. We are not talking about a sports car, but the behavior is always sincere and predictable. The 1.5 turbo petrol engine with 163 HP is smooth and silent, even if it does not shine for grit. There is also a mild hybrid version available, while a full hybrid or a plug-in could arrive in the future.
The automatic transmission is smooth in the changes, while the four-wheel drive – available on some versions – allows the Actyon to tackle even some light off-road stretches, remaining faithful to the SsangYong tradition.
But the real ace up the sleeve of this SUV is the quality/price ratio: the new Actyon starts at around 25,000 euros, with a very complete standard equipment. A price that makes it particularly interesting for those looking for a spacious, reliable car that is different from the usual Korean, Japanese or European proposals.
In short, this new Actyon by KGM could be a pleasant surprise for those looking for a solid, well-made and accessible SUV, but also for those who are nostalgic for the old SsangYong and want to discover how it has changed under the new leadership.
In the video we take you on board, we show you all the external and internal details, and we tell you how it goes on the road.
