Killing Floor Summer Sideshow Event 2011
http://www.killingfloorthegame.com/summer/
School's out, the sun is shining and summer is finally here, which means
it's time for Tripwire Interactive's Summer Sideshow Event.
This time we're going to take you to the carnival -- not the prissy, nice kind,
full of boring, safe rides and staff falling over themselves to help. We're talking a carnival, Killing Floor style: deadly rides, undead staff and sideshow horrors who want nothing more than to chow down on your twitching corpse.
You've seen pictures of charming Victorian ladies and gentlemen both amused and repulsed by 19th century carnival freaks, right? Well, where better place to hide a bunch of Horzine experiments?
Naturally such fresh carnival carnage deserves a New Map packed with frolicsome freaks baying for blood: Welcome to the Abusement Park! Think of our freaks as early models, perhaps created by Kevin Clamely's great-grandpa, Errol Clamely, an insane genius let loose in a world unprepared for his vision; or maybe these creatures are young Kevin's twisted dreams, spawned from the carnival trips his mom forced him to take as
a child, long before he founded Horzine and went completely big-top loony.
The kindly, amusing and murderous Ringmaster presiding over this 3-ring nut-house is The Patriarch, aided by his Lovely Assistant, the Stalker, sporting a fetching new outfit and the amiable Pukey the Clown. They have some wonderful supporting acts for us, including one of the clumsiest Sword-Swallowers you've ever seen. But don't worry, it won't hurt for long...
And if we didn't know better, we'd have to assume that some of Kevin's freaks
are out for revenge, hell-bent on venting the kind of angst and rage only
Horzine can instill in someone. Or something. The Strange Little Clots are
clearly NOT friendly clots nor, for that matter, is the Bearded Lady, the Two-Headed Girl or the Incredible Man Monkey, though it must be said that the Mechanical Man is a truly wondrous achievement in clockwork engineering. However the crowning glory has to be Pukey's colleague, the FleshClown. Most definitely NOT a bundle of joy.
And did we tell you there is a real prize? Did you really think we would have a
sideshow without Prizes? Not us - we wouldn't do that to you! Well now you know! If you can run round our sideshows and win 10 out of the 13 achievements, you'll win a prize. This time, in keeping with the rather warped Victorian-era theme to the whole event, you can get "Punk'd" and win
yourself a Steampunk Mr Foster.
Steampunk Mr Foster: he's charming, witty, terribly polite and well dressed and kills things. Do note that he only kills "things", not people. He is very discriminating like that. If he killed people, he would be raging psychopath. And that wouldn't be so nice.
So there you have it - For a Limited Time Only, on a PC near you, the Tripwire Interactive Summer Sideshow Event! Free fun for everyone who owns a copy of Killing Floor! Roll up, roll up!
