Kinect Sports - (Perfect) Beach Volleyball Match - Champion Difficulty
I just got the Kinect not too long ago, and this took some practice (though I still made a few mistakes). The other three difficulties are nothing compared to this one. I'm just glad that I can finally block those spiked balls on reaction and without tumbling over.
I didn't show the screen that displays a picture of your avatar vs. a picture of your opponent's avatar with the difficulty setting displayed right below it, but if you look at the very beginning of the video, the speech bubble below the opponent's avatar displays the difficulty. (Thank god it does.)
This is actually my fourth time perfecting a match on this difficulty. =)
Some tips?
Predicting where your opponent will hit the ball is usually a bad idea. More often than not, you're in a position where you can receive the ball on either side of yourself, thanks to your opponents' ability to spike with both hands. You're better off just waiting for the ball to be hit. Moreover, it is possible to block spiked balls on reaction alone if you pay close attention, but if you find this difficult, just squat a bit and stick both arms out. It works.
Jump at the apex of your serve to hit with power that makes the ball harder to cleanly return for the other team. Hit at a sharp angle to make the ball even harder to return. (I didn't know about this until I watched a match on YouTube.)
When both players are backing up from the net, just tip the ball over. This allows you to either score a free point or make the other team fumble and give you a free spike. It doesn't always work, so you may have to be persistent.
Always set the ball to your teammate when you get the chance. He or she will occasionally successfully spike the ball. You can set the ball with a bump or with an upward thrust of your hands and arms.
Got all that? Good luck, then.
Sorry for the audio glitches. I don't know why my Dazzle hates me.
