The once beautiful Scenery of La-Lakoosha is poisoned by the Chaos, and the Caves leading to the Temple are fumed with toxic Air; though Popka himself can breathe in the now-poisonous Atmosphere of the Caves, Klonoa and Lolo aren't able to.
Fortunately, the glowing Priestess Statues in the Caves emit breathable Air for Klonoa when he is around them.
In the Cave Sections, an Oxygen Meter will appear On-Screen showing how much Time Klonoa has left before he starts to take Damage from the poisonous Air if he doesn't reach another Statue in Time.
Earthquakes have also changed the Path to the Temple.
