Just a month after the release of Yakuza Dead Souls, series creator and producer Toshihiro Nagoshi would sit down for an interview with Weekly Famitsu. The main purpose of this interview was to officially announce that Yakuza 5 was in development, but alongside this announcement, he would also mention that a sequel to Kurohyou had been started, with Syn Sophia once again working alongside the team at SEGA for it.
