THE PATHLESS ended up being one of the detailed and ambitious scores I've ever written, culminating in almost 3 hours of music and requiring performances of 104 musicians, plus dozens of additional crew. It was a challenging and exhilarating three and a half years of work with Giant Squid. I can't overstate how much I love the collaboration with them and their leader Matt Nava.

Here is a closer look at moments of the three main large ensemble recordings we did: an antiphonal group of french horns and percussion ensemble (both recorded at Abbey Road's Studio 2), and the string orchestra in Skopje, Macedonia.
