Layers of Fear is a first-person psychedelic horror game with a heavy focus on story and exploration. Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness, as you walk through a vast and constantly changing Victorian-era mansion. Uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the painter and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create.

This is one of the free Xbox Games with Gold for March of 2017 so I thought we'd give it a try! This is the final episode in this series as I wrap up the game. Apparently, this game has three potential endings and I got the "neutral" one.

Overall, I really enjoyed my time with Layers of Fear. It was scary and atmospheric without resorting to jump scares. The story was interesting and the game was visually very nice to look at. It's definitely worth a free download and play through if you grab it on the Xbox this month. If you are a fan of the horror genre, it would probably be worth your $20 investment as well, especially if you were interested in completing all three endings or getting some of the more obscure achievements.
