For the second video, Fred teaches you how to set up customization for your RetroPie. It starts with scraping data to create names, background, and box art for you games. Then he moves on to updating back end, adding themes, and making/adding special boot up splashscreens (including intro videos). Finally how to setup and manage the settings and visual filters for the emulators. This does get into the more specific and true Linux back end programming, but with little to no risk.
