I hope you've enjoyed the game! You can buy it here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/45710/Dark_Void/

I would have chosen a different title for this final part but let's be honest here, Space Dragons sound cool as heck! For me, this game is a HUGE pleasant surprise - I was expecting it to be riddled with issues, balance problems and generally being a messy and uninteresting game all around judging by public consensus but what I found was a fun and really interesting mix of third person shooting and aerial dogfights that felt fun, fresh and exciting. Sure I REALLY dislike regenerating health and two weapon limits, both of which this game is guilty of and it feels like half the campaign is missing but I thoroughly enjoyed what was there. Fun enemies, great weapons, nice level design that utilizes the jetpack and a rather interesting story with likable enough characters really makes it stand out from other cover based shooters. I imagine if this game ever had a multiplayer portion then it would have gained a cult following for its mixing up of the two gameplay styles but its unfortunately a short single player experience but a DAMN good one at that.

I also got VERY lucky with this game's atrociously terrible DRM as it uses securom which does nothing more than bar paying customers from properly playing their game. For most people, it won't even accept their product key thus having to phone up Capcom to little avail as I've heard horror stories of them not owning up to the fact that DRM like this is absolute fucking trash and should never be a thing at all - kinda like region locking! It does nothing other than limits the consumer to use the thing they own however they want.

The port was obviously not good and my system's pretty beast but I had a great time with the game that the dropped frames didn't get on my whick like it would for others especially since it seemed to have good frame pacing which certainly helped in those drops. Also I've heard reports of major crashing but I thankfully encountered only one and the rest of the issues were just the occasional bug - I feel I managed to avoid it by activating fullscreen mode which is as simple as pressing alt+enter, it doesn't work for all games but I find that's a very reliable way of going between views, keep that in mind!

So yeah! A fun pleasant surprise! I do wish there was a follow up sequel to this but I imagine with the poor reception and lackluster sales, the chances of that happening is next to none which sucks. I guess I can think about what it could be...

A blind playthrough that's all about flying high in the sky and crashing into the ground with epic style or silly embarrassment, that is Dark Void right there! A huge pleasant surprise for me and an interesting mix of third person cover shooting and arcade aerial dogfighting makes it one of the more interesting cover shooters I've played and it's pretty weird.
