Let's play Europa Barbarorum 2 (M:TW) as Kimmerios Bosporos - part 0 2/2 "The Setup"
I am a bit skeptical about our current army composition. The weaker spearmen are useful only as perhaps militia or town watch while the stronger units are far too expensive for us. I am also having a hard time imagining some sort of concise strategy that we could utilize here with so many diverse units.
What scares me the most though is however the fact that we have that much cavalry archers. This can only mean that we will constantly face them (which is probably a given when we have the Sauromatae – the nomads – as our neighbors) which is a nightmare. No battle can be properly fleshed out and prepared for when you face these kind of units. I am not a skirmisher myself, I always rely on heavy infantry and cavalry strikes with archers to weaken possible daring enemies. Here I can only expect heavy casualties and endless chasing every battle. Just the kind of attrition we do NOT need when we play a one province minor with wide borders.
Description of the game from Total War Center: " Europa Barbarorum was started to more accurately represent the barbarian factions in Rome - Total War as more than unwashed hordes but quickly expanded into accurate representations of all of the factions. Over the X years that EB has existed, EB has completely remade the Rome - Total War game with the goal of historical accuracy and fair representations of all factions. With the completion of Europa Barbarorum Version 1.1, the team has moved on to the M2TW engine to recreate the Roman Era with the new features available therein."
