Trading is really quite specific part of the game. As was mentioned originally I entered this game with the intention of serving as an escort to my friend. However as he has a kid now and have to assume the fatherly role I'll have to make due with what I have available in here and now.

There are basically these options available to me:
a) Mining
+ yield of about 800 000 ISK per twenty minutes
- boring as hell but can be done semi AFK
Personal note: I still am willing to do it when I have the time but I really need to pickup a better ship than the Venture.

b) PvE
+ running missions can be fun and provide really good rewards
- somehow I don't feel like doing it
Personal note: I will do them eventually but for now I feel like ignoring this part of the game

c) PvP
+ PvP is the masterpiece of the game and where almost everyone eventually ends up
- I am such a noob that going this way at this point is just wasting my time and money
Personal note: I will end there eventually

d) Trading
+ at this point the most interesting thing for me and thus the most fun
- trade is very limited and fairly dangerous plus the outcome is sometimes really low
Personal note: I think I will get better in time

So what should you make of that? Basically I think I might go the way of mining/trading at this point. Acquiring minerals and then selling them seems pretty good and easy. At this point I would combine AFK mining and selling the unprocessed yield with trading when I can devote the attention but for the future I'll need to improve my ability to process (skills, implants and standing with factions through PvE missions) and then I can easily go the way mine while AFK, trade minerals you mined when online. Voiles!
