Heroes of the Storm (Originally titled Blizzard DOTA and later changed to Blizzard All-Stars) is a multiplayer online battle arena developed by Blizzard Entertainment for Microsoft Windows and OS X.
I'm play Sylvanas Windrunner, The Banshee Queen, is a ranged specialist hero from the Blizzard Entertainment Warcraft franchise. She was not always the Dark Lady of the Forsaken. In another life, Sylvanas was the Ranger-General of Silvermoon. But that was before the Death Knight Arthas slew her and her people and raised her as the first Banshee.
Sylvanas disables enemy minions and fortifications. Killing enemies replenishes her Withering Fire for continuous damage
As the Queen of the undead Forsaken, Sylvanas Windrunner seeks a higher purpose for a people who have already died once.
Sylvanas was once the ranger-general of Silvermoon, a commander charged with defending the elven kingdom of Quel'Thalas. She perished during the Third War, when her homeland was ravaged by Arthas Menethil and the undead Scourge, but her death was not the end. Cruelly, Arthas ripped her soul from her body, subjugating her as a banshee, a hate-filled agent of the Scourge. When the Lich King was weakened by an assault from Illidan Stormrage, Sylvanas and other willful undead broke free from his control and built a new home beneath the fallen kingdom of Lordaeron. They called themselves the Forsaken, and vowed to exterminate the Lich King at all costs.
After fighting for their right to join the Horde, Sylvanas led her "people" to the continent of Northrend to destroy the Lich King. Before they could succeed, an uprising among the Forsaken killed members of the Horde and Alliance, casting a shadow of mistrust over Sylvanas. She came to dwell on the Forsaken's dim prospects for the future; they were despised and unable to procreate. Ultimately, the Banshee Queen made a pact with the Val'kyr, nightmarish creatures capable of creating more undead, to give the Forsaken a chance to persist on Azeroth.
The game features heroes from Blizzard's franchises including Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft. The game uses both free-to-play and freemium models and is supported by micropayments, which can be used to purchase heroes, visual alterations for the heroes in the game and mounts. Blizzard does not call the game a "multiplayer online battle arena" or an "action real-time strategy" because they feel it is something different with a broader playstyle; they refer to it as an online "Hero Brawler".
The game entered closed beta on January 13, 2015 and a full version of the game was released on June 2, 2015.
Gameplay
Heroes of the Storm revolves around online 5-versus-5 matches, operated through Blizzard's online gaming service Battle.net. Players can choose from three game modes, which include playing with/against computer-controlled heroes or other players. When players first start the game, they may play 5 heroes provided by the free hero rotation, a methodically selected list that changes weekly, but by using gold, the in-game source of wealth, or through microtransactions, they can gain permanent access to a hero. Two additional heroes are available to players who have reached level 15. There are currently 37 heroes in the game divided into 4 separate roles. Of the currently released maps, 6 of the 7 have the standard 3 main lanes where players can fight, while the exception, named Haunted Mines, has two main lanes but a separate objective-based area. Killing enemy/neutral units and the opposing side's heroes grants experience points, which are shared with the entire team.
