0Stage 2. Enemies will start carrying shields here. Either wait until they lower it to shoot,or get up close to hit them with your Knife in melee range. The Flame Shot also bypasses shields. In the bridge area,you'll have to destroy a couple boats as they pass by underneath you. Use some Grenades to help expedite the process. You should also have gotten a Rocket Launcher (Rock-It Lawnchair) before this area to help with that too. Each boat drops a Weapon before sinking,like more Rocket Launchers or a Shotgun. Past the boats,you'll face the miniboss called Mini-Bata. This tank is stuck on it's tracks and fires slow-moving fireballs at you. Just stick to the Heavy Machine Gun to bring it down quickly. You'll find a Metal Slug tank nearby after it's defeated. Use it to stop the small air assault,and you'll soon face the next boss. Boss: Hairbuster Riberts. This is a Bomber with General Morden aboard. It can fire various missiles that you you'll either have to jump over or move to avoid. The rising platforms can help with that. It can also drop bouncing bombs that are difficult to dodge. Morden can also appear from the side to fire more missiles at you. After it's destroyed,you'll see Morden fly off in a smaller plane.
