Let's Play - Star Wars: Republic Commando [MODDED] - Part 1 - Join Delta Squad
Hiho er... Kermit the frog here.
Uh, HI! 8D I'm your host Mr. Ceptor5665steinRC. Today, class, we shall be visiting the war torn gladitorial arena of the beloved (or not so) planet Geonosis. This game here is a pure gem, and is one of my top favourite games to date; Star Wars Republic Commando.
In this particular Let's Play, I've gone through and made a BUNCH of changes to how the game plays and looks, to make things more unique to my playthrough. I was debating making a new set of squad skins/characters every Campaign Act (3 in total) but I'm partial on that, due to the effort it will require. Not to mention another large surprise I'll be making toward the end of the project. Still, I hope you enjoy the changes I've made!
In the game you play as Delta 38, known as "Boss". The number for RC-1138 is actually a reference used commonly in Star Wars lore which refers to George Lucas' movie of the same title. Speaking of references, you'll actually see Boss' helmet in the first level of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed which is funny in unto itself.
You're joined by three of the elite clone commandos ever bred; Delta's 40 "Fixer", 07 "Sev" and 62 "Scorch." Each member has a distinctly unique personality as will become more apparent in later levels. At the start, not much personality is exchanged between squadmates, but that will increase later. The squad based AI system works really well and has very few flaws. Except if you die. Then you best pray that you can be revived.
I'll be delving more into the backstory of the Commandos and the books when the next Campaign arc pops up, because I will not get interrupted by the Advisor nearly half as much as I do here. Please keep that in mind. This particular level of the Star Wars Saga is pretty gruff dark and edgy, so don't be afraid to get your boots dirty.
Or blasted clean off.
The mods done to this playthrough, however aren't the most technical, nor are they the best ever. I did them to make the game more unique to play through for myself. I certainly didn't need to do them, but I used to do this stuff a lot, so it's partly habit.
Changes:
-Weapon Sounds
-Characters: 16 "Yuuya", 75 "Traxen" and 65 "Ceptor". The latter should explain to you perfectly where my character/alias came from.
Damage of some weapons have been altered to bring balance to the forc--game. Game. GAME. This game gets tough if you're not smart about it!
Anyways, I hope you enjoy, and I will see you in the next Episode! Hopefully without such a large description! Lmao, enjoy!
