Hello again! In this episode we tackle the scarlet island that Cirno tried to stop us going to before. Once there we find the Scarlet Devil Mansion, guarded by a chinese girl who's a little obsessed with rainbows and rain. She's an irritating fight, but nevertheless we prevail and move onwards to the mansion itself.

For some reason Marisa explores the library before anywhere else. Makes no sense to me, but perhaps the library is the first room of the place? Nah, Patchy wouldn't have allowed that surely. Anyway, the library is armed to the teeth with magical guards against intruders, but we scrape through all of them to find the librarian herself, Patchouli Knowledge. She's a pretty unique boss, since she combines elements at her disposal to generate powerful spell cards that force some pretty hectic movement at times to dodge. Said spells are different for every shot type used - in this case Marisa B has to take on mostly metal- and water-typed spells. Marisa B has the easiest of all the Patchy fights, but I'm still not overly familiar with anything outside of Marisa A on Hard mode so it was a bit more interesting personally!

And unfortunately you get to see the side of me that I should probably try and fix but won't because I'd take it to the extremes if I did - my sheer reluctance to bomb when I'm practically stuck as it is, only to lose a life which still had bombs as a result. Biggest (possibly only in this video) example is during Water Elf, although I just plain screwed that one up so yeah.

I did get to play Mercury Poison though, so yay :D

Patchouli, and this stage in general, is one of my favourites. Third only to Marisa herself and Yukari. Her theme just really got to me... it's sad but powerful at the same time, a good combination. The stage itself is long, but very fun - however you do need to know how to actually tackle it to get the most out of it. Patchy becomes very brutal on Lunatic though!
