The Ultima series, though not as popular as FF or DQ, has a strong place in many hardcore RPG'er hearts. Ultima: Exodus was the 3rd 'official' game by Richard Garriott and the first Ultima game I played in my childhood. With non-linear progression, many places to explore and tabletop elements; Ultima: Exodus is a favorite to many but the bane of gaming for others.
