ලෝක තෙත්බිම් දිනය සෑම වසරකම පෙබරවාරි 2 වනදා සමරනු ලැබේ.
දිනය තෝරා ගැනීම
1971 වසරේ ඉරානයේ රැම්සාර් නුවරදී, ජාතීන් 21 ක් විසින් තෙත්බිම් සම්බන්ධ රැම්සාර් සම්මුතියට අත්සන් කල දිනය, එනම් පෙබරවාරි 2 වන දිනය, ලෝක තෙත්බිම් සැමරුම් දිනය ලෙස තෝරා ගෙන තිබෙයි.
තෙත්බිම් දිනය සැමරීම
ලොව ප්‍රථම වතාවට තෙත්බිම් දිනය සමරනු ලැබුවේ, 1997 වර්ෂයේදීයී. එතැන් පටන් සෑම වසරකදීම, රජයේ කාර්යාංශ, රාජ්‍ය නොවන සංවිධාන සහ විවිධ තරාතිරම් වල පුරවැසි කණ්ඩායම් විසින්, තෙත් බිම් වල වටිනාකම් හා ප්‍රතිලාභ පිළිබඳවත්, විශේෂයෙන් රැම්සාර් සම්මුතිය ගැනත් සම්බන්ධ පොදු දැනුවත් කිරීම් සිදුකරනු ලැබේ. මේ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් ප්‍රවර්ධනය සඳහා රැම්සාර් මහලේකම් කාර්යාලයද, අවශ්‍ය ද්‍රව්‍ය හා ආධාර සපයයි.

February 2nd has been chosen as World Wetlands Day, the day 21 nations signed the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands in 1971 in Ramsar, Iran.
Celebrating Wetlands Day
World Wetlands Day was celebrated for the first time in 1997. Every year since then, government agencies, non-governmental organizations and citizen groups at various levels have been raising public awareness about the values and benefits of wetlands, particularly the Ramsar Convention. The Ramsar General Secretariat also provides necessary materials and assistance to promote these activities.
