The Lucknow Super Giants had a great start to the tournament. For the majority of the first half of the tourney, LSG maintained a spot in the top two. But mid-way, things started to go wrong for them, they lost their momentum, and the team's skipper, KL Rahul, has been ruled out of the tournament to add to the woes. With 11 points from the same number of matches, LSG are currently at number four in the points table and will be desperate for a win to climb up the ladder in the points table.
In their last outing against the Gujarat Titans, LSG suffered an embarrassing loss by 56 runs. They were asked to chase down 228 runs, but all they could manage was 171 in their quota of 20 overs. But, Super Giants will have to leave the failure behind quickly and bounce back in order to keep their chances alive in the tournament.
Team Preview (Sunrisers Hyderabad):
The Sunrisers have played ten matches in the tournament. They have managed to win four of these matches and are struggling at number nine in the points table with 8 points. SRH are in a situation where they need to win all of their matches in order to keep the hopes of making it to the next round alive.
However, they might take heart from the performance in the last match. In a match that was nearly out of their hands, Glenn Phillips played a brilliant cameo and helped his team pull off a near-impossible heist against the Rajasthan Royals.
