Losing Leonard Nimoy was a blow to anyone who ever loved Star Trek and many who simply call themselves nerds. He touched people as mixed-heritage Vulcan Spock, in a portrayal that taught many how to balance their lives and learn to feel empathy and sensitivity, even as an outsider. He accomplished a lot in his life outside of Star Trek, and is worth the outpouring of love and remembrance seen from his many many fans the world over.
