LUFIA & THE FORTRESS OF DOOM (PART 5)
Our adventure continued when we began the trails involving the Blue, Green, and Red Towers to locate the hidden elf village of Elfrea. While we located all three towers with no problem and located the Blue Sapphire and Green Jade, we were lost while attempting to locate the Red Ruby causing us to wander around aimlessly for about an hour.
We visited the nearby village of Ruan several times for answers, but what we cryptically needed to do was talk to a woman located in the town of Jenoba. After buying her a couple of drinks of cider she talks about the Medan Mines, which ends up being a destination we backtrack to so we can speak to an old miner there in the cave to finally get the Red Ruby. Seriously, what were the devs thinking with this?!
Despite the nonsense, we completed the tower tasks, completed the optional side quest of completing another level of the Old Cave dungeon, and defeated the Dark Ghost in the Red Tower which allowed us to free the Water Fairy and unlock our way to Elfrea where we find Artea. While Artea is unable to help us directly with the fight against the Sinistrals, he tells us about the Dual Blade and sends the heroes to search for a professor who can further help during the quest.
We now arrive in the village of Ranos to continue the adventure.
STORY
One dark day, emerging from the sky, a massive floating island with a large castle named "Fortress of Doom" appears. The fortress served as the home for a group of all-powerful gods known as the Sinistrals, who planned to use their strength to rule the world.
In response, the people of the world sent four of their bravest warriors to infiltrate the Fortress of Doom and stop the Sinistrals. However, after the terrible battle between the heroes and the Sinistrals, the fortress begins to collapse and two of the heroes apparently perish when it crashes into the earth below.
Peace reigns for many years after the encounter with the Sinistrals, but will this peace continue?
