Luigi's Moves - History Behind Super Smash Bros. Brawl
READ THIS DESCRIPTION BEFORE COMMENTING! Seriously.
This video shows possible inspiration and theories behind Luigi's moves, style of movement and general character.
This video is a bit different from the others as Luigi already has some moves that are similar to Mario's, some moves that are different from Mario in addition to a distinct personality in the game. Yet Luigi doesn't have too many moves with a solid history either.
Keep in mind that I have to use evidence that is already in his previous games for what I am trying to show. I can't just say something like "Luigi lives in his brother's shadow" without some type of indication of it in his original games.
So, I first show a general intro showing their similarity in their original games. Then I show how Mario and Luigi are similar in Brawl while comparing it to their similarity in many of their original games. I try to be brief since I already covered certain moves that are common between Mario and Luigi in depth in Mario's video. To be brief, I focus only on the special B-moves. I am well aware that Mario & Luigi share other moves in Brawl (such as down-smash A), but there's no point in going overboard duplicating what was already presented in Mario's video for the same moves.
Next, I show how Mario and Luigi are different, after having showed how they are similar.
Then I try to explain how Luigi came to be known as "the second Mario brother," if you will, and how that was translated into Brawl. (Negative Zone)
I also show how Luigi's "cowardly" personality sort of evolved in some of his more recent games and once again, how this was translated into Brawl.
Hope you enjoy this unorthodox Super Smash Bros. Brawl History video.
