At first you feel the tickling of electricity on your skin. It is warm and intimate, coaxing out a hypnotic passage that crashes against glistening cold cement. Ghostlike voices reaching out of nowhere, immediately overdrawn by rumbling machinery with angular precision. You are burning, trapped in a derailed train wreck collapsing upon itself. Uncommonly uneasy. OBSOLESCE.
MAERE took flight following a lengthy Berlin winter. With a broad range of musical interests that span from post rock to hip hop, MAERE’s music incorporates a diversity of sounds and ideas into a boundless mixture of pounding beats awash in atmospheric drones, throbbing noise, strobing vocals and haunting melodies.
