Shadows over Loathing — a slapstick-figure comedy adventure-RPG full of mobsters, monsters, and mysteries.

You'll need to make chrome polish. In order to do that, you need to unlock the process. First, you need to soften the book to the right of the alchemy equipment. Since it's made of vellum, you need to make a vellum softener. In order to do that, we will be numbering the chemicals based on the hopper. There are 4 hoppers so we'll go by 1, 2, 3 and 4.
To make the vellum softener, select the hoppers in this order: 2, 1, 1, 2.
Once you have the vial, use it on the book to find out what chemical goes on the third hopper.
Talk to the professor and ask him about the arsenic. He'll tell you that a student has it, and he will unlock the location Hilbert House for you. Head to the Hilbert House.
Go to the third floor then head to the right, enter room 3A. Pick up the arsenic from the drawer to the left of the bed.
Head back to the Chemistry lab and place the arsenic in the hopper. Next, you have to find out the fourth element. Janet at the library will give you a hint of what you need to do, but to make things short: you need a bronze revivifier. Head to the chemical table and create it.
To make the bronze revivifier, select the hoppers in this order: 3(Arsenic), 1(Mercury), 3(Arsenic), 2(Lead).
Now head outside the classroom and check out the bronze statue on the left. Pour the potion to Dr. Adams. He'll accompany you for now. Go back inside the classroom and check out the crafting table again for new dialogue. Read the book to the right again to see what Dr. Adams added. Talk to the professor to ask where the lithium is. He'll give you a new location in Ocean City, the Soda Factory.
