The new 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 just did what many thought was impossible—set a Nürburgring lap record with a manual transmission. And it did it in serious style.

Jörg Bergmeister drove the six-speed GT3 to a 6:56.294 lap around the 12.94-mile Nürburgring course, beating out the long-standing Dodge Viper ACR record. Even more impressive, it outperformed the previous PDK-equipped GT3 model. With help from the Weissach Package and sticky Michelin Cup 2 R tires, Porsche proves once again that the thrill of driving is not dead.
