Mario is my second favorite Mario Kart character behind Isabelle. So naturally, I'd use him in any game besides Mario Kart 8. Unfortunately, Mario Kart 64 has a stats system. Mario and Luigi are tied as only the second best, while Yoshi, Peach and Toad are all tied as the fastest in the game. But I wanted to time trial with Mario, so I thought I'd grind for times that are considered expert times as defined by the skill tiers in the MK64 Player's Page. This challenge started at the beginning of July, all the way up to now in late September.
