I pretty much do the final fight the exact same way regardless of class, and regardless of when I run this mission. You are likely to get your shields busted by a Nemesis at least once this way, but there usually isn't anybody around who can take advantage of that. This time there was a CAT, but it wasn't a big deal.
If you keep the shield pylons intact, they will buff your shields as you disable each part of the "shield generator" holding Aria. The adjutants are usually too slow to catch up to you until after you have released Aria.
