The episode begins with a flashback to 1997, when Nick Fury recruits a young Gravik and other Skrulls for a secret mission on Earth, promising to find them a new home with the help of Captain Marvel.
In the present day, Fury is blamed for the Moscow bombing that killed thousands of people, including Maria Hill, and is fired by James Rhodes. He later learns that Hill was actually a Skrull named Soren, the wife of Talos.
Fury meets up with Talos, who reveals that there are up to a million Skrulls hiding on Earth, some of whom have joined Gravik’s faction that wants to take over the planet. Talos also shows Fury a video of Gravik killing Soren and claiming to be the true leader of the Skrulls.
Fury and Talos team up with Sonya Falsworth, an MI6 agent who has been torturing a Skrull prisoner for information. They discover that Gravik has a scientist named Dr. Rosa Dalton working on a machine that can create Super-Skrulls using DNA samples from superpowered individuals and aliens.
The episode ends with a shocking twist: Fury has a wife named Priscilla, who is also a Skrull. She greets him at their suburban home, where he puts on his wedding ring. It is unclear if Fury knows that his wife is a Skrull or not.
