I stumbled upon a weird glitch with the jump jet physics. I can't even really describe it except maybe the jets are getting stuck on, lag, or something damn weird. Basically even though I was out of fuel and had released the button I was still traveling upwards. It even caused me some minor leg damage but could have been worse if I had "bounced" even higher.
