Some tips:
-His green bullets only do one notch of damage to X, less than his other attacks. So if you just avoid his mines and running into him you shouldn't have too much trouble.
-If you attack him just before he attempts to place a mine he'll never get the chance.
-A safe spot for his green bullets is just behind his original location before each attack.
-As you can see, you can attack him just as he gets up after being stunned, and stun him again. Near the end of the battle I was actually able to prevent him from doing anything at all! However, it seems you have to get lucky and his shield has to be in just the right rhythm for this to work indefinitely.
-As with most Mavericks of X2, a dashing (or dash-jumping) regular shot does two bars of damage instead of one. However, it's hard to hit Serges with regular shots unless he's already been stunned a bit.
