The only stage here with a branching path. The top path is harder due to spikes and harder enemies. The end result is the same though,so take whichever route you want. The boss of this stage is the General of the Repliforce. He looks intimidating,but as X,he's actually a cinch. He can fire his fists as platforms while he fires energy circles at you. However,if you jump up the opposite wall and just keep aiming for his face,you can hit him from there. Kinda cheap,but it works.
