Mega Man X6 All Stages Speed Run in 41:31 (20:13 In Game Time)
World record for Mega Man X6 All Stages set on 11/18/15. In game time was 20:13.
This run is done on the Mega Man X Collection for Playstation 2, running PCSX2. 1.2.1. Below I will explain the overall route and point out a few things.
Glitch and route tutorial playlist with more information on glitches: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPo-9UwwPnFsKrmT89bRxvhMfWncU69DX
Intro stage
I use the Z Saber to reduce the recoil of jumps which saves time, as well as crouch dashing. I hit the first boss 24 times using a combination of air dash and saber to reduce hit-lag, while taking damage, and then hit the core to kill him, this leaves me at enough health to lose to Hi-Max as fast as possible.
Rainy Turtloid (1)
I go to the alternate path to collect Zero, as well as the Hyper Dash and Saber+ parts from reploids.
Shield Sheldon
Nothing to say here, besides standing in particular locations to adjust the spawns of the laser beams to save some time. I use a technique called SDC (Saber Dash Cancel) to kill the boss.
Infinity Mijinion
I equip the guard shell to abuse its glitchy attributes (check my tutorial playlist for more info) on the cables in this stage. Boss luck is decent.
Commander Yammark
Not much to say here, besides movement to avoid getting hit wherever I can. The nightmare effect isn't too hard to deal with. Boss gives me a bad pattern.
Rainy Turtloid (2)
Before going to the stage, I do a glitch (check tutorial) to equip both Hyper Dash and Saber+. The nightmare effect here isn't too hard to deal with if you practice. I use Guard Shell to quickly destroy the objects and the Rekkoha to destroy some that are lined up vertically. Boss quick kill goes nicely.
Metal Shark Player
Stage goes very nicely, I use the ensuizan invincibility glitch in the second area. Miniboss was below average, boss fight was also.
Blaze Heatnix
I use Metal Anchor's charged ability to dispatch the donut bosses quickly. Luck here is decent. Movement isn't perfect, but it's not terrible. I use Ray Arrow since it deals a lot of damage to the boss without any long invincibility times.
Blizzard Wolfang
Stage goes nicely, I do the invincibility glitch again. The ice block luck here is very nice, and boss goes very well.
Ground Scaravich
Check tutorial. Very good time, perfect movement and skips. Boss goes very well, using Ray Arrow for the same reason as on Heatnix.
Nightmare Mother
Stage was sloppy, and the fight was very unlucky.
Hi-Max
Stage goes nicely, using double jump to sequence break most of it. Fight goes decently as well.
Gate
Stage was great, fight was above average.
Boss Rush
Mijinion: Decent
Sheldon: Good
Turtloid: Good
Scaravich: Decent
Metal Shark Player: Good
Commander Yammark: Good
Blaze Heatnix: Decent
Blizzard Wolfang: Decent
Sigma
Stage goes decently, first phase goes perfectly, second was decent.
This run won't be beaten anytime soon, but I estimate I can save around 25-30 more seconds if I get desirable boss luck throughout the game.
