Dynamite Headdy is a platforming game developed by Treasure in 1994 for the Sega MegaDrive/Genesis.

Hard mode is a one-hit K.O mode which is activated by pressing start on the Press Start screen, then entering the following code: C, A, Left, Right, B. You should hear 'Nice' when entered correctly. You then hold the B button and press start to activate hard. If you do the same code and press start, you will gain access to level select.

Decided to take the challenge of beating Dynamite Headdy on hard early December. One of the earliest roadblocks I've had was 5-2, where after the first miniboss, the wall cannons would get me more often than I would've expected. Thankfully the second miniboss behaves consistently, less room for error. Before then, 3-2 was interesting as when I first played the game, I didn't get the feel of avoiding the ceiling and floor in the backstage area, and had to get used to killing the tiny Trouble Bruin heads. After scene 3, the following scene is pretty much the 'coffee break' area.

Scene 6 which initially a huge problem for me. For 6-1, I used to use the 3-way shot to try and finish off the ship. Which rarely worked. The laser shot was a much better alternative as I was able to take out the turrets relatively quickly, which allowed me to have the space to avoid things easier. 6-2 can be a bit annoying if I am not paying attention to the splash damage from Bruin and some issues with contact damage. Scene 7 wasn't all so bad in comparison as I had a strategy going into the level.

No real issues with scene 8 other than Rever Face. He's just the one boss that gives me a lot of trouble out of the blue even when playing normally at times. Along with it being my least favorite bonus point in the game to get!

9-1 wasn't too bad as I had a set pattern going into it. 9-2 I also had a pattern going into it. With how consistent it is for 9-2.

It isn't, I got nothing honestly, because 9-2 is horrible.

Finally, for 9-3, I just had to really keep my focus on what's going on as it can be done well. At the moment there was pressure as I really wanted to get to the extra scene on this mode. Eventually I had achieved this feat and managed to get to the extra scene and finish it.
