NOTE: This is not a speed run/ Big Boss Rank run. The purpose of this playthrough is to capture the events of the Shadow Moses Incident. With that said, except for the 3-hour time limit because I wasn't skipping cut scenes, I worked hard and made sure to meet the Big Boss Rank requirements -- Extreme Mode, No Continues, Max 1 Ration used (I don't think I used any), Max 25 Kills, Max 4 Alerts ("Found"). It is also said that you can only have Max 80 Saves, but I was very far from the limit.
I plan to play through all the Metal Gear games (at least the main ones) to really understand the series. It might take some time, but I swear I will complete the series; I am determined to understand that effin' complex story. =)
Metal Gear Solid is the third canonical title in the Metal Gear Series, a direct sequel to Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Released in 1998 for the original Playstation, I personally thought this was the first game in the series. I got my copy from the Playstation Store under PSone Classics.
Plot Summary from the Metal Gear Wiki:
During a training mission on Shadow Moses Island in February 2005, at a nuclear weapons facility on a remote island off the coast of Alaska, FOXHOUND and the Next-Generation Special Forces rebelled against the United States Government, under the command of Liquid Snake. Their target was the advanced weapon system Metal Gear REX, a gigantic robotic weapons platform able to independently launch a nuclear warhead at any target on the face of the planet. Their demand was the body of the greatest soldier who ever lived, Big Boss, which, through gene therapy, they could use to create an army of ultimate soldiers.
With the safety of the entire world at stake, at the request of the Secretary of Defense, Colonel Roy Campbell, the former commander of FOXHOUND, summoned Solid Snake out of retirement for one last solo covert operation to stop Liquid.
