This is a Tool Assisted Speedrun of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

In this run, the goal is to finish the game with the lowest amount of items, going out of bounds is not allowed. To spice things up, it's done on Hypermode Difficulty.

Final Time
RTA: 2:49:45,800
IGT: 2:07:13,050

Shout-out to Aruki and his segmented any% run from 2009.

Here is my little rant about doing this run.

at first the positives:
I had way fewer Emulator Issues than during the 100% TAS! This run is not segmented anymore, but can still desync

and now the meh stuff and negatives (and boy howdy, there are a lot of those)

first of all this is a combination of the three worst ideas you could have when running Prime 3:
Inbounds only
Hyper Mode
Low%

Let's talk about every part separately:

Inbounds
While playing inbounds can be nice when experiencing this game casually, having to avoid even small wallcrawls in this run sucked. Having a way faster route in the beginning of Pirate Homeworld or just boosting to the ceiling after getting Spider wouldn't make this less fun even to watch.

Hyper Mode
Oh boy, Hyper Mode difficulty sure is dumb. On Normal difficulty, this run would have been 10-15 Minutes faster, maybe even close to 20. I was comparing this runs time with Aruki's 2:09 any% from 2009 and the biggest time losses were the Bosses, I lost over 5 minutes on Phaaze alone due to this run being on Hyper instead of normal since everything takes ages to die, even those Hyper Ball Blobs you have to destroy have over twice the health compared to Normal mode.

Low%
Honestly, I think low% can be fun. If I had to finish this run with 22% but out of bounds was allowed, this would have been a blast for me (well it would have been a regular any% run which is a pretty nice speedrun with a fun route if you ask me, but that's a project for future me). Regular low% (15%) would be way less annoying if Grapple Swing wasn't skipable, but I'll tackle that soon.

Combining all 3 of these things made this a less fun experience than I initially thought when starting this project. Also having some huge desync Issues towards the end of the run made me care less about optimizing movement especially post Valhalla

Thanks for reading my ramblings. I hope you have fun watching this run and consider subscribing if you liked it
