Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is the 2016 PC re-release of 2013's Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on PS3, which was in turn a re-release of the original Dragon's Dogma released in 2012 (also on the PS3). Dark Arisen features all new gameplay, monsters, weapons, items, boss battles, and other content not present in the base game or the 2013 release on Playstation 3.
Review: Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a surprisingly inspired and original role playing game that will leave you wanting more - an impressive feat, given how much gameplay it offers out of the box. The combat is varied and satisfying, the interface is serviceable, and it even features a snappy platforming system that adds a layer of verticality to the game's exploration, which is a rarer site in open world role playing games. Best of all are the pawn follower mechanics, which add an interesting flair to support characters. The pawns never shut the fuck up and drop cheeseball lines left and right, but this is generally more entertaining than it is frustrating (and if you find their chatter annoying, you can always turn it off in the game options).
The bottom line? Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen for PC lives up to the hype and it's a must play for every action adventure/RPG fan. It's no Glover 64, but then again, what is?
