I was a fisherman for the Guild for thirty-five years, tasked with every aspect deemed fishy and the like. Whetfish and Sushifish were my quarry as much as they were my friends and partners. It was an easy living, fishing for the Guild, but maybe not as exciting as I would have wanted it to be.

"Fisherman, do you have the time?" I remember that damned scholar ask me. I should have just kept walking, should've just kept fishing. But I didn't, and instead indulged the scholar and before I could even process what was going on I was in a ship with a squadron of hunters, endemic life researchers and about as many felynes as there were scales on a goldenfish.

For five months we traveled, destiny-bound to some islands only Gog-knows where. I spent my 40th birthday on that boat.
Part of me thinks that I would have a different opinion on the whole matter if I had asked what the point of this expedition was from the beginning, but alas, my time as a trawler meant I had nobody to speak to other than Hopguppies and the occasional clam that drifted on by; meaning I'm as shy as hair on a Rajang's ass.

When we arrived at the island, I was quickly told of my purpose for being here: Gastronome Tuna. A strange phenomenon was occurring at the island something about a loss of wrath or the like and the waters were turning deep red (an affect of red krill spawning, more than likely) causing massive migrations of the tuna to come and feast on the small but many prey.
The tunas were eating everything, and I mean everything: shiny rocks, nets, the wooden foundations of the native's homes, and there were reports of some of the tuna braving the land to feast on unsuspecting felynes.

I and I alone was tasked with eliminating the gigantic threats.

The natives and the hunters, as opposed to each other as they were, both agreed that this task seemed to be too daunting for one fisherman to do alone.
99% of the time, they would be right. I seen many a lobsterman get taken into deep water due to underestimating the fat fat scaly menace and the countless sea shanties proclaiming the dangers of unattended rods and drunken fish catchers surely ae based on real life. I would know, I'm a fisherman.
But, I have a score to settle with these creatures for when I was five, a school of the wretched fish took my family off shore and into the deep. The five minutes it took for them to make it back to land were some of the most harrowing moments of my young life. I swore then and there amidst my father cursing as he wrung his soaking wet shirt that I would avenge my summer vacation that those fish ruined for that small moment in time.

I looked the village chief in the eye and asked where the schools were located. My aversion to speaking be damned. Donning my "Fish fear me, and not just the men but the women and children too" bucket hat and my Narga-infused fishing rod, I went to the beach south of the village.
I could feel the eyes of everyone, the villagers and the Guild members, on my back as I walked alone.

They would remember this day, whether that's referring to the humans in the village or the tuna themselves, who's to say.

The wrath of the Tuna Slayer will be witnessed.
Gog help us all.
