Admittedly with the addition of the New Era Timeline being added to the mix, it was a difficult task of deciding how to make this image compilation video. Given that now there are now characters taking on mantles that they never had before, particularly the New Era Kuai Liang now becoming the new Scorpion and the New Era Dairou becoming Havik (or at least one iteration), I decided to have this done in a way that acknowledges all three of the timelines so far.
The format works as thus: In the bottom left corner is an image of a character's original appearance, left third of screen character as they appeared at the end of the original Midway continuity, middle of screen character as they appeared in the second timeline (started in MK9), at the right third how they appear in the New Era (which as of this writing only consists of Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns), and in the bottom right corner the poster of the MK title they first appeared in.
I took some liberty with Meat in that he is usually said to be introduced in MK4, but considering that he was merely a paradoxical "skinless skin" that any character could take on, his first real appearance (as an actual character) was MK Armageddon
