My Mega Maker Levels: Cutting-edge Chamber
So I guess this is where I put the dev notes on this thing?
I’m pretty bad at Mega Man games, so my levels are usually a bit low on difficulty. Anyway, this level will probably be the easiest one I’ll ever make (unless I stoop to some joke level) due to its design. You see, the whole level is based around the Rolling Cutter, so I had to keep its limitations in mind. As you can only have one shot on screen at a time, all enemies in the level besides the Shield Attackers die in one hit to the Rolling Cutter. The first screen is to test the player’s knowledge on the game engine with some platforming while dodging a few bullets. The second screen complicates things a bit by adding in death spikes. The Kerog Party is an in-joke that involves how annoying the titular enemies are. Plus, a few escaped to the next screen. The Shield Attacker room is there because I wanted a timing thing in my level. As for the Battons, I needed something to fill the screen with. I decided I wanted a ladder climb segment from the get-go, but I had a lot of trouble deciding which enemies to place where, so I just put in Telly spam. It’s not as annoying as it seems, though, because of the Rolling Cutter’s piercing abilities. At the end, there is a Train Met. There was going to be another, but that would have made a perfect run impossible, so I just went with the one. The next screen is just to troll the player with 1-ups they can’t get and a fake Quick Laser segment. The level was going to end with a boss, but I found it too hard, so I just put the Energy Element on the ground. Later, I discovered I could edit boss weaknesses, and the boss was added back in.
